About Us

Our Story

Since we opened in 1993, we have enjoyed serving cats, dogs, and their caregivers in the greater Concord, NH area. Our veterinarians and staff strive to provide the highest level of care for your pet in our convenient location on Route 4 in Chichester (just minutes from the Epsom rotary or Interstate 93). Your furry friends will be in such good hands, they might never want to leave.

We are a full-service health care facility, focused entirely on the health and well-being of your pets. Unlike other veterinary facilities, we do not offer doggy daycare, boarding, or grooming services so that we can focus our efforts on the medical care of your pets. Our intelligent and experienced veterinarians and staff will work hard to keep your pets healthy, no matter how much trouble they’ve gotten themselves into.

Front Desk
When you enter our clinic, you will be greeted by our friendly receptionists and technicians, who will help you weigh your pet on a scale before you are led into an exam room. In the waiting lobby, you will find prescription food as well as leashes and collars that can be purchased from us.
Exam Rooms
We have five exam rooms, with 4 of them having "half-doors" so that you feel more connected to our clinic (and Gatsby). Each exam room has a smaller scale for cats and small dogs, as well as a movable light used to examine the pet more closely. Most annual exams and vaccinations, as well as nail trims, happen in your private exam room. A veterinary technician will ask you for a brief history about how your pet's health before the veterinarian comes in. The veterinarian will then examine your pet, administer any necessary vaccines, and decide on a plan if there are any concerns.
In House Laboratory
To help us find problems your pet may have quickly, we can run some lab work in our clinic. For example, we can check stool samples for parasites, blood samples for red and white blood cell counts, urine samples for crystals and parasites, and ear wax swabs for yeast infections. A veterinarian will review the results from any machines or manually view the sample to decide on a course of action. For more advanced testing, we can pack up samples to send out to IDEXX laboratories or to the New Hampshire Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.
Treatment Area
If a pet does better being examined away from the owner, the veterinarian and veterinary technician will bring the pet into the treatment area for the exam before talking to the owner about any problems found. Pets can sometimes receive IV fluids and other treatments in this large room. For animals staying for hospitalization, they may receive medications in the treatment area when not in a kennel.
Surgery Room
Surgeries and some sedated procedures happen in the surgery room. A veterinarian will perform the surgery while one or two technicians will monitor the pet's heartrate and other levels.
X-ray machine
To diagnose some internal injuries or diseases, an X-ray machine can be used to take radiograph images of the inside of the pet. The machine can be used to find fluid or air in the body, enlarged or small organs, broken and fractured bones, foreign objects ingested by the pet, and more.
Ultrasound machine
Examining the soft structures inside of a pet can be difficult without using an ultrasound machine. Using a probe, the veterinarian is able to move this handheld device around on the pet while viewing the organs on a screen to find issues.
Kennels
Although we don't board pets for daycare, we do have kennels for pets staying for surgeries or hospitalization. Some kennels are in the treatment area while others are further out back in a quieter area. Veterinary technicians and veterinarians are frequently checking on pets in kennels, even during breaks or outside of when the clinic is normally open.
The Hut
To limit people in our lobby and save you time, we have you call us to refill medications and prescription food and pay for it over the phone. Then, you can pick up whatever you order in "The Hut," a shed outside the front entrance, whenever you get a chance, even when our clinic is not open.
